It was an extremely beautiful movie with gorgeous visuals. I love the night scenes of the movie when everything is glowing. It was just blissful. True, the graphics were top notch and the integration between reality and the graphics were flawless.
One thing bothered me though. The storyline was so cliche. A Caucasian guy who is supposed to infiltrate the native land learns the ways of the natives and falls in love with the girl. Hm. Sounds so familiar... right, Pocahontas. Avatar is just more grown up with cooler animations.
One thing I like from the storyline though, is the human Jake Sully couldn't walk. I just thought it was a cute sentimental thing :).
Avatar did bring up some issues back. Just, what the hell are we doing right now? We're consuming like there's no end and we don't say or do anything in gratitude. What the natives do after killing or hunting to say thank you to the certain thing they just killed is just tolerable. It makes us more human.
My prof said that humans are the most unnatural thing. True, we are "civilized" beings who chop trees up and inject animals with hormones so they can be so fat so we can be fatter. Honestly guys, we suck.
