polyvore is taking over my life.

So I'v been browsing through my favourite websites to scramble for items to put on Polyvore. A friend of mine have been linking this site: ModCloth and I stumbled upon Dress911. Given, the "indie-viduality" is a bit cheesy. And... I don't really like people labeling this style as "indie". Don't know why... but oh well. I'm considering to purchase two items for my birthday. Once I acquire credit card, I will.... be purchasing more.. I guess.

Things I might buy for birthday:
1.

Lomo fisheye
2. A locket
3. An awesome haircut
4.
OPI Matte Nail polish
5. A man ;)

paste girl: Polyvore

What did I just do..? Totally discovered a whole new "thing" to obsessed and will never obtain: Polyvore.

Good friend of mine recommended it to me; she said I would like it. She is too right. She knows my fashion taste too well. I love this thing. I just wish I have the money in the world to actually buy stuff.

My first polyvore :)

So Polyvore is another fashion blog with amazing photos of products. You create outfits and post them online. This is their blog. But I highly suggest you guys to check this Polyvore out (especially you, Tash). Well, I'm gonna browse around some more.

lazing

you know, it's that time of the year when you're frustrated with yourself cause you're not getting anything done but you want to be the awesome person that you always imagine yourself to be. Maybe it's time for evaluation, and come up with a new strategy.

I've started to be more of a keener in school. Probably because my classmates are older and they are tackling those readings every week. I am in awe and I do feel intimidated at times. Thoughts such as: why am I so young and irresponsible? why can't I know as much as they do about these things?

I'm not even close in finishing my checklist. I should finish my checklist by the end of August 2010. That, is my goal. Then as for my New Year's resolutions, I really should get cracking. Working out tonight with brother, and I am currently reading my textbook for International Studies.

I can do this. I will do this. New Layout coming up soon. I have some patterns drawn up already.

Here's an interesting article. A human-faced lamb was born. Yup, a lonely shepherd out in the fields of Turkey thinks a lamb is super sexy. Full article here

New View on Humans?

I know it's a bit late, but I saw Avatar in 3D last night. What are my thoughts?
It was an extremely beautiful movie with gorgeous visuals. I love the night scenes of the movie when everything is glowing. It was just blissful. True, the graphics were top notch and the integration between reality and the graphics were flawless.

One thing bothered me though. The storyline was so cliche. A Caucasian guy who is supposed to infiltrate the native land learns the ways of the natives and falls in love with the girl. Hm. Sounds so familiar... right, Pocahontas. Avatar is just more grown up with cooler animations.

One thing I like from the storyline though, is the human Jake Sully couldn't walk. I just thought it was a cute sentimental thing :).

Avatar did bring up some issues back. Just, what the hell are we doing right now? We're consuming like there's no end and we don't say or do anything in gratitude. What the natives do after killing or hunting to say thank you to the certain thing they just killed is just tolerable. It makes us more human.

My prof said that humans are the most unnatural thing. True, we are "civilized" beings who chop trees up and inject animals with hormones so they can be so fat so we can be fatter. Honestly guys, we suck.

Busy Semest!

Guess, what? I'm hired as a part time worker at La Vie en Rose :)! No longer seasonal! I have a permanent part time job now! It's almost celebrate-able.

My second day of semester two ended quite alright. I will have to bring a packed lunch on Tuesdays though. Got a class back to back from 1030-220.

So far, I'm really excited for my communication classes. I wish I can just take communication classes... Intro to Journalism sounds like a lot of work. Prof said we have 40-50 pages worth of reading every week. And I think my three other classes have a similar workload. What did I get myself into...

My prof said something interesting today. It's a month until Vancouver's 2010 Winter Olympics. "Pay attention to how the media is going to cover the Olympics". There has been a controversy surrounding the Olympics due to the amount of money spent. Some people think we shouldn't spend that much money on sports because we can use that money on the homeless. On the other hand, the Olympics is considered as Canada's chance to make their mark in the world. What's your stance on it?

Let's hope I don't die from over reading and work.

Love,

Clar

First New Outfit of the Year..

On the 31st, my friends and I went down to the Art Gallery. Then we went around downtown looking for pastries. We ended up going to this basement vintage store by Robson St and Granville St. The store's name is True Value Vintage if I am not wrong. I have been there before... but I never bought anything, until that night. I found this beautiful ruffly dress that looks like an early 20th Century nightie and an amazing belt to go with it! Plus they were an additional 20% off :D

This is how the ruffles are like.

The kind-of-Celtic belt to go with it.

Me wearing it for the New Year's Eve party.

Trying to do a cool pose. Failed miserably.. :( I think I need to smile to look good.

New Year's Eve!

I'm sorry I don't have better photos for it. I really wish I do. We were indoors and the lighting just sucks :(. I need to grab my dad's tripod from the storage I think. And just hope that the sun comes out soon and then I want to do a photoshoot.

Oh. Sorry for the old ugly plain template. I'm working out some kinks right now. New cool template will be up soon!

Until then, let's all succeed with our New Year's resolutions!

New Year

Happy New Year!!!

New Years is such a weird event. Think about it.. it is just another day.
A certain drunk friend of mine last night complaint about how everything revolves around the Christian calendar. Well, technically it is the Roman calendar... and it is the base of our culture. Not our fault. There are so many different ways people can criticize some days and cultures. My professor said culture is man made and it is now geared towards consumerism.

However, I don't like to look at things in the negative light. Think about it this way, when will people ever give stuff to other people and gather together with family and friends? Almost never. Work and school occupy quite a chunk of our lives. Christmas and New Year give us reason and time to spend with our loved ones. I think it's great. The time off is great.

Another great thing about New Years, is the resolutions. People might not achieve them... but at least there is the want to. To know that one has things to work on and striving to work on them gives humanity hope :).

My resolution comes down to three basic things:
1. Exercise at least three times a week
2. Be diligent --> use time wisely!
3. Finish my checklist!

2010 IS the year, guys!
